How to Unlock Jump Showdown Characters
Most of the roster is free. The rest is a pass, a boss, a portal, or a donation wall. This page is the checklist; the roster is the flavor, the boss guide is the fight.
What you already own
Unsealed Sorcerer, Unhinged Esper, Greatest Psychic, Unwanted God, Godly Highschooler, and Edgerunner are free. Living Blade and Silk Weaver are free subs (Burning Star may still ride Early Access while the kit completes — check the in-game list, not a six-month-old thumbnail). You do not need Robux to have a main. Anyone telling you Godly Highschooler is locked is quoting a patch that is dead. Confirm rankings after you unlock, on the tier list.
The video is the Cursed Child route in motion: wait out server time, find the castle / station arena, dump damage, place top three. The written boss guide adds HP breakpoints, the 499 Robux skip, and the PS+ landmine. Watch the video in the middle of this page, then finish the text so you do not skip the spawn-disable warning.
Cursed Child, step by step
- Go to Shinjuku Station at the back of the map.
- Wait 17 minutes 30 seconds of server time. Spawn chance is about 50% versus other boss events.
- Do not use any Private Server+ command if you are on a private shard.
- Deal as much damage as you can. Top three raises the ~33% drop.
- If you miss the character, you still get emotes. Stay for the next cycle or pay 499 Robux at Jimpee to force a spawn.
Early Access, portals, exclusives
Early Access is the only pass that gates a fighter, and it currently gates Short Alchemist. VIP, kill sounds, extra emote pages, and Awakening outfits do not unlock mains. World Event portals grant The Conquered and Meaty Michael — see World Events. Candy Maker, Red Mist, Star Platinum, and Mr Prince are not a public grind. Skill Builder “unlocks” only exist in private servers and never transfer to the public roster.
If your goal is simply “play someone strong tonight,” skip the boss and play Godly Highschooler or Unsealed Sorcerer. If your goal is the Chara kit, budget multiple boss cycles. The drop is not pity-protected in a way the community has documented as guaranteed. Treat 33% as 33%.
