How to Play Jump Showdown
Jump Showdown is a 16-player battleground with fighting-game inputs. This is the first-session guide. Keep controls open. Pick a starter from the beginner tier list.
The first sixty seconds
You land on the field. Open the head icon, pick Unsealed Sorcerer, close the menu. Do not emote, do not chase the first person you see, do not buy a pass. Walk. Dash. Jump. Hold block. That is the PC or mobile grammar. Titles above heads are kill counts, not power levels — a Universal Level can still lose a parry.
The map is one piece: forest, fort, lake, waterfall, football field, ruins, Shinjuku Station. Dummies exist so you are not the dummy. Warm up there. The map guide marks them. Lightning during storms is real damage. The lake is a highlight-reel grave.
The video order is the right order: dashes, blocking, parrying, ragdoll cancel, wall combo, down slam, uppercut, then a character tour. Pause after parrying and go hit a dummy. Do not watch seventeen minutes and then invent muscle memory in ranked Duels.
A single fight, slowed down
- Side dash in. Front dash is the one people parry for free.
- Four M1s. If they hold block, stop on hit two and wait.
- If they attack, tap block on the connect frame. That is parry.
- If their back is near a wall, 4 M1s + dash. That is a wall combo.
- If your bar is white, G. Spend Awakening on a confirm, not on a blocked poke.
- If you hit the floor, ragdoll cancel once. Then respect the cooldown.
Kills move Street → City → Continental → Planetary → Galaxy → Universal. Emotes drip every fifty kills and from boss placement. None of that replaces a parry. After two hours, try the Cursed Child timer. After a week, read the review and decide if Early Access is for you. Until then, you already own S-tier on the tier list — Godly Highschooler is free, but he is homework, not a tutorial.
Mistakes that eat the first hour
- Chasing the first Universal Level you see. Titles are cosmetics with a body count, not a power ranking.
- Holding F forever. That is block, not parry. You will still eat grabs and rear hits.
- Pressing G the instant the bar flashes, into a held block. Awakening wants a confirm.
- Learning wall combo on the football field. There is no wall. Use the castle — map.
- Buying Early Access because a thumbnail said “new character broken.” The June 2026 ultimate shipped; he is still a paid kit, not a free S. Short Alchemist.
- Using PS+ commands, then wondering why Chara never spawns. The boss page is loud about this for a reason.
If mobile is your only machine, read mobile controls before you blame the kit. If you came from The Strongest Battlegrounds, the F-tap still exists but the roster names will lie to you until you open the character list. Play the dummy. Then play the server.
