How the bar fills

Deal damage, take damage. Switching characters dumps progress on many battlegrounds titles; do not shop the roster mid-bar. The HUD flashes when G is live. Console uses Y / Triangle, mobile uses the Awakening button. Binds are on controls. You cannot store two bars. You cannot take it into a new server.

Fill speed is why timid play feels terrible. If you only poke from the lake, you will never see Heaven’s Equal. Take a stock, eat a hit, return. The beginner list exists so you can take those hits on Unsealed Sorcerer (he heals) instead of on a glass exclusive.

How to spend it

• Mains: you get a new 1–4. Unsealed Sorcerer’s Purple can eat the whole bar. Godly Highschooler’s Heaven’s Equal activation is a 99.9% bomb with QTEs inside. Read the tier list before you waste that on a blocking dummy.
• Subs: one shot. Living Blade’s Phantom Dominion is a documented 100%. Do not press G at half screen.
• Boss: save G for a low-HP dump so the cutscene damage actually finishes the 777 HP bar. Cursed Child.
• Never G as a panic wake-up. Parry or dash first. Parry.

QTEs inside awakenings (Fight sliders, Heaven Piercer points, clash minigames) are why auto-QTE scripts exist on the scripts page. Learn the slider with your hands at least once. Duels will be full of people who only know the script version, and then a patch later they will not.

Edgerunner’s Sandevistan is not Awakening. It is a kit move that can stun you if overused. Greatest Psychic’s Mob Mode is an awakening path with no time limit in community docs — that is the exception, not the rule. When in doubt, assume a short window and dump a confirm, then go back to M1s and wall combos.

Spending G on the boss

The Cursed Child fight is where people waste bars. Phase one is for filling. Phase two, under 450 HP, is for the dump so the cutscene actually finishes the 777. If three players are in the arena, Special Hell can ragdoll you out of your own ultimate. Solo or duo, then G. Unsealed Sorcerer’s Purple and Godly Highschooler’s Heaven’s Equal are the published bar-eaters; bring one of those if you are tired of chipping. Sub-characters can theoretically one-shot with a 100% G, but landing Phantom Dominion on a sliding Chara is a highlight, not a plan.

There is no unique Awakening-only tutorial video that is not already a character showcase. The how to play clip covers the button. The roster names the second kits. This page is the spending rule so you stop treating G like a panic roll.
